During our 6th semester, we designed a dance school in the city centre of Patras which would provide space for public shows, rooms for dance classes, a library and ancillary facilities.

 

The dance school generates its space through the movement of the dancers. A diagram shows a landscape formed by dancing moves which were the inspiration for this space.

 

Two main buildings, one above ground and the other underground, complete the whole synthesis. The first one consists of the dancing rooms and the library while the other of the shoe room and the ancillary facilities. The buildings are connected through a yard with a height difference, where dancers can perform outside using the roofs of some buildings and create a visionary scenery.
