Project Title

Maritime Museum

The purpose of our research is to capture the different scales of the region taking into account the height and width of the area. These differences are captured in the maps of the area where the relationship between the human scale and the existing scale of the area is depicted but where the scales disappear the landscape becomes unified.

The area is transformed into a new landscape combining the different scales and textures and placing elements which reformulate these scales and textures and finally change the area.

A new site plan is created, where the lines of masts are the altitudinal curves and the pieces of the ship are the fragments of the building. The landscape is strongly geometrically shaped to depict the intensity of the battle but the building consists of clear and logic pieces, calmly placed in the landscape.

The internal organization of the plan and section follows again the logic of the battle. Creating different levels of movement, observation and wandering inside and outside the building.
